EC 03-That the World May Know Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
Uncover the hidden meaning of Scripture with an exciting "Foucus on the Family" video series. The class is designed for people interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the Bible. Transporting viewers to the land of Old and New Testaments, the series merges on-site historical lessons with life-changing challenges to enhance comprehension and stregthen the convictions of believers. EC 04-Introduction to Dungeons & Dragons Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
This course is designed for beginners or those new to the third edition rules. All you need is an active imagination and a willingness to have fun! Participants will learn the basics of role-playing, charater development, and world building. The course will use the third edition Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide as reference material. EC 05-Beginning Beer Brewing Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
Brewing your own beer is a fun and enjoyable hobby that can satisfy all your insatiable urges for malted beverages! Join local beet guy and Corvallis Brewing Supply owner, Joel Rea, in this session that exposes all the ins, outs, ups, and dowms of making your own beer at home. Class covers the various equipment and ingredients while exploring styles and inner personal exploration of beer. Do to the nature of this class, you must be 21 to participate. EC 06-Kendo Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
Kendo may be Translated as "The Way of the Sword." It is the study of Swordplay derived from styles used in feudal Japan and uses bamboo swords and practice armor during sparring. No experience or equipment is required; however, workout clothing is recommended. Interested students will have the opportunity to purchase their own bamboo swords for practice. EC 07-Earth Wizards: Time and Telepathy Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
What is time? It's time to sign up for this class. Does Magan civilizations, the fourth dimension, Hopi prophecy, dolphin telepathy, rainbow science, or geomagnetic star alignments to the earth's sacred sites mean anything to you? My approach is based on the discovery of the timing frquencies, (12:60 Artificial, industrial, and technological) and (13:20 Natural, cultural, and galactic). Chinook Jargon Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
Chinook Jargon is an easy to learn historic trae language that combines words from several NW coast tribes as well as words borrowed from French and American trappers and traders. Comprised of only about 600 words, Chinook Jargon is of Special signifigance to us in the Pacific Northwest. Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
Shinshin Toitsu Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art developed by Master Koichi Tohei. The first half of the class is devoted to learning Mind and Body Coordination. Students will learn the basics of Ki (living power), relaxation, and concentration, using a variety of excercises. During the second half of the class, students will apply those principles to the martial art of Aikido. They will learn to fall down safely, and lead others without conflict. A November 2000 US News magazine cover was entitled, "The Mormon Way: How a Utah-based church became the world's fastest growing religion." This seminar will explore unique origins, doctrines, and reasons for the enduring growth of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. After a initial presentation by Dr. Tom Sherry (director of the LDS Institute of Religion in Corvallis) attendees may ask the questions they've always wondered about LDS beliefs and history. Girls' Film: Submission and Subcersion Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
The course will look at the coming of age films that focus on girls and their search for self and sexuality. The course will include short lectures and short readings, but will primarily consist of viewing and discussing four films. The course materials (film and readings) will foucus on mainstream expectations for girls and their sexuality and the ways that films and characters both submit to and subvert these expectations. Two Day Outdoor Color Photography Workshop Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee Instructor
This two-day sorkshop promises to be a beneficial time for individuals looking to improve their abilities as 35mmm Color Slide photographers. Through 1 field session and a classroom crtique, participants will learn the basics of film and equipment choices, composition and optical effects as well as how to tie all of these together to produce better outdoor photographs. Don't miss out on this chance to join Tradewind Characters and the Experimental College as we take to the high seas in search of migrating whales and other sea life. This 2-hour trip is a must for photographers, whale lovers, and even those just wanting to take to the open seas for a day of fresh air and fun. Come with the experimental college as we spend an afternoon at the Pacific Northwest's oldest art museum. With a diverse collection of over 33,000 objects and works of art this trip promises to be a very enlightening experience and must for all art-lovers. Admission costs are not included. Columbia Gorge Waterfall Tour Course Desciption Dates & Times
Be sure not to miss this wonderful one-day tour of some of the most pristine waterfalls in Oregon. On the Oregon side, the Columbia River Gorge has 11 spectacular waterfalls, which are all wonderful. Portland Garden Tour Course Description Dates & Times Course Fee
In this one day tour the Experimental College will tour both the Japanese Gardens and the new Chinese Suzhou style garden, which is the largest outside of China. This trip is a great chance to enjoy the serenity of these beautiful gardens and get a small taste of the Orient. Admission costs are not included in the price of the trip.
